How to clip a YouTube video with ClipBolt

Upload the video file instead of pasting the link. It takes about a minute, works every time, and uses only half your minutes.

1. Download your video from YouTube Studio

  1. On a computer, open studio.youtube.com and sign in to your channel.
  2. Click Content in the left menu.
  3. Hover over the video and click the ⋮ Options (three dots) menu.
  4. Click Download. YouTube saves an MP4 copy of your video to your computer.

On your phone? Use the original file from your camera roll or editing app instead. YouTube Studio's download option is on desktop.

2. Upload it to ClipBolt

  1. Open your ClipBolt dashboard.
  2. Drag the MP4 into the upload box (or click it to browse). Files up to 1GB.
  3. Pick the video language, turn on captions if you want them, and you'll have clips in a few minutes.

Not your video?

Only clip videos you own or have permission to use. If you run a clip channel, follow the creator's clipping guidelines and ask them for the file or permission. Downloading other people's videos from YouTube without permission breaks YouTube's terms.

Why upload instead of a link?

Pulling videos straight from YouTube requires expensive download services. Skipping them is why ClipBolt costs half as much as other AI clippers: Creator $9.50/mo, and uploads count at half your minutes. TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, Reddit and Rumble links still work by pasting the link.
