1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ClipBolt (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
ClipBolt is an AI-powered video clipping service that automatically analyzes video content and generates short, shareable clips. The Service uses OpenAI Whisper for transcription and GPT-4o for clip detection.
3. User Responsibilities
Right to Process Videos
You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to process any videos you upload or submit to the Service. You are solely responsible for ensuring you own, control, or have permission to process all video content. ClipBolt is not responsible for any copyright or rights violations resulting from your use of the Service.
Copyright Responsibility
You certify and warrant that:
- You own or have explicit written permission from the copyright holder to process all videos submitted to ClipBolt
- The videos do not infringe any third-party copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property rights
- You have obtained all necessary licenses, permissions, and clearances required by law
- Unauthorized downloading of videos (including from YouTube, streaming services, or other platforms) and processing them without permission violates copyright law
Users are exclusively liable for any copyright infringement resulting from their use of the Service.
Prohibited Use
You agree not to:
- Submit videos you do not have the right to process
- Download videos from third-party platforms without authorization and process them through ClipBolt
- Use the Service for illegal or harmful purposes
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract the AI models
- Use automated scraping or abuse the Service infrastructure
- Violate any applicable copyright, trademark, or intellectual property laws
4. Watermarks
Free tier accounts include a ClipBolt watermark on all generated clips. Paid subscription plans provide watermark removal. Watermarks are a condition of free service usage.
5. Subscription and Billing
Payment Processing
All subscription payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize ClipBolt to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis according to your chosen plan.
Billing Terms
- Billing occurs on the same day each month
- You may cancel your subscription at any time
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle
- No refunds are issued for partial months
6. Data Retention
Clip Storage
All generated clips are retained for 30 days from creation. After 30 days, clips are automatically deleted and cannot be recovered. We recommend downloading and archiving important clips.
Source Video Deletion
Source videos are temporarily processed and automatically deleted after transcription and clip generation, typically within 24 hours.
7. Service Availability and Uptime
ClipBolt is provided on an "as-is" basis. We make no guarantee of service uptime, availability, or uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from Service unavailability.
8. DMCA Compliance
ClipBolt complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and maintains a designated copyright agent to handle notices of claimed copyright infringement. Users who repeatedly infringe copyright or intellectual property rights are subject to account suspension or permanent termination. ClipBolt may also report violations to law enforcement as appropriate.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ClipBolt, its founders, employees, agents, and service providers from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms of Service
- Your violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right
- Any copyright, trademark, patent, or intellectual property infringement claim arising from your use of the Service or content you submit
- Any claim that you do not own or have the right to process videos you upload to ClipBolt
- Your unauthorized downloading or processing of copyrighted content
- Any claim brought by a third party alleging that your use of the Service infringes their rights
This indemnification obligation shall survive termination of your account and these Terms of Service.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClipBolt and its founders, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profit, data, or revenue, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event shall ClipBolt's total liability exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise) upon which the claim is based.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. CLIPBOLT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
12. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to the clips you generate. ClipBolt retains ownership of the Service, including all AI models, algorithms, and infrastructure. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute the Service itself.
13. Termination
ClipBolt may terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without cause, and without notice. Causes for termination include, but are not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Copyright or intellectual property infringement
- Repeated policy violations or abuse of the Service
- Non-payment of subscription fees
- Suspected fraudulent activity
Upon termination, your access to the Service and your stored clips will be immediately disabled. You remain liable for all charges incurred prior to termination.
14. Changes to Terms
ClipBolt reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
15. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the Service shall be exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Ohio.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and DMCA Copyright Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ClipBolt regarding your use of the Service. This agreement supersedes all prior negotiations, understandings, and agreements, whether written or oral.
